The latest news that has started to circulate regarding the release of Apple’s much awaited third generation tablet is that it might be called as iPad HD instead of iPad 3.
A source while talking to VentureBeat said, “Apple’s next-generation iPad will be called the iPad HD, not the iPad 3.” The source which gave this news is considered a reliable source because of providing genuine information before regarding Apple devices. One other important thing that was mentioned by this source was the release of a smaller iPad later on in the year.
CNet have also given its input regarding the change in the name and have confirmed in the following words, “The next iPad uses the HD moniker instead of […] ‘iPad 3’”. This information was provided by one of the reliable developers who have been associated with iDevices.
Cult of Mac’s Alex Heath did some online search regarding the opinion of people about the name of the latest tablet by Apple. What he concluded from his research was,
“After reading reactions this afternoon from bloggers and Apple fans I follow on Twitter about the possibility of an iPad HD, I decided to ask the people at the table what they thought about the name. When asked whether ‘iPad 3’ or ‘iPad HD’ made more sense in light of the high-quality Retina display, every single one of them said they preferred iPad HD”
Most of the people while buying an iPad would not look into specifications like pixel density or screen resolution, all they want is an ultimate experience while using their tablet. Yet we cannot stay say with surety what name would be given to the new tablet as there is a pretty good chance that Tim Cook might debunk these rumors in upcoming event at San Francisco.
